How to Send a Google Maps Route to Wahoo
Google Maps doesn't hand a route to Wahoo directly. Convert it to GPX first, then import it with the Wahoo app.

Plan your route in Google Maps
Set your start, destination, and any stops the way you normally would.

-
4
Download the GPX file
SmartGPX returns a standard GPX file built from the real, calculated route.
-
5
Import it with the Wahoo app
Open the GPX file with the Wahoo app, or import it from the Explore tab, then sync it to your ELEMNT.
Getting the file onto your Wahoo
The Wahoo app treats a GPX file as a route. The most direct path: open the downloaded GPX file on your phone and choose to open it with the Wahoo app, then name the route. It'll then show up under "Choose a route" on your ELEMNT once synced. You can also go through the Wahoo app's Explore tab, then My Collection, My Routes, Import a file. Either way, your phone needs an internet connection during import: the app uploads the file to the Wahoo Cloud, which converts it into a route your ELEMNT can follow. On a computer, connecting the ELEMNT over USB and dropping the GPX into its routes folder works too.
Good to know
Importing a route through the app depends on that Wahoo Cloud step, so it won't work offline. Extremely long or waypoint-heavy routes can take longer to process, and older ELEMNT models may organize imported routes slightly differently in their menus than the current BOLT/ROAM/ACE line.
Skip the copy-paste. Export a GPX file straight from a Google Maps tab with the SmartGPX Chrome extension.
